COLORED ENGAGEMENT/WEDDING RINGS!

Everyone around me knows that I love to be unique when it comes to engagement/wedding rings.  I have a true love for stones that have color to them and stand out in a crowd.  There is always something to say about a beautiful classic wedding set based on the 4 c's that is pure and white.  The beauty of a perfect colorless diamond makes anyone stop and take a second look.

Today more and more people are searching for alternatives to the classic look.  Many celebrities are turning to colored diamonds and gemstones to enhance their wedding/engagement settings.  Now there are so many choices out there to really make your own statement.

I have picked out some famous celebrities and their rings that I fell in love with.  I have also listed alternative examples to achieve similar looks without the famous celebrity price tag.

FAMOUS CELEBRITY ENGAGEMENT/WEDDING RINGS TO DIE FOR:

Kate Middleton - Most famous ring! 18 carat blue sapphire surrounded by diamonds.  Bought for 60K, now worth over half a million. .

Mariah Carey's $2.5 million 17-carat stunner.  Its a square emerald-cut pink center diamond surrounded by 58 intense pink diamonds and two half-moon diamonds on each side.
Heidi Klum - 5 carat oval yellow diamond $150,000.00
JLO - 6-carat pink diamond $3million
Wow Kobe sure messed up here!  He gave Vanessa a 8 carat purple $4 million "sorry ring"

Carrie Underwood’s five-plus carat flawless fancy yellow diamond surrounded by a diamond pave halo that makes it even more dramatic. The Diamond Information Center estimates the ring is worth $150,000.  Penelope Cruz vintage 3-carat sapphire ring worth roughly $30,000

Not everyone can afford to buy such amazing rings, however today there are so many options to choose from!  Here are some beautiful options if you love colored diamonds!!!

Yellow Diamond Ring

Yellow Sapphires are a great Yellow Diamond alternative!
These rings range from 3-7 carats and cost 10k-16k

Pink Diamond

Morganite is awesome substitute for Pink Diamonds!
These rings range from 1/2-2 carats and cost $1200-$2500

Blue Diamond

Blue Sapphires are great for Blue Diamonds
Blue Sapphires depending on size, prices can vary from $2,000 to $10,000+ per carat. The record price at auction was slightly over 3 million dollars for a 22.66 carat Kashmir sapphire that was sold by Christie's in New York in 2007. So for the moment we can say that $135,000 per carat is the top price for blue sapphire.

Aquamarine is another Blue stone alternative for Blue Diamonds.
These rings range from 1/2-2.7carats and cost $2000-$2500.
